I am human, I sometimes make mistakes, sometimes I even forget about my tea and by the time I’ve remembered its there its super cold and not very nice.
So I have invented the heated coaster!
I have a feeling this will change lives.

As many of you may know music is and has been a huge part of my life, especially for the past 10 years or so that I’ve been playing in bands, mainly Anavris.
The band has been a huge part of my day-to-day life for the past 7 years (or maybe even longer) but unfortunately as of earlier this month it has come to an end.
On the plus side I’d like to stress that this was in fact a mutual decision, there was no big arguments, no fisty cuffs or rehab clinics and to tell you the honest truth it was a long time coming.
There was no single deciding incident or event, what happened was spread over the course of the last 6 months or so where I guess we all starting feeling a bit like we were stuck in a rut. The band itself wasn’t getting any bigger or smaller, we were under a lot of pressure to write an album which just wasn’t coming out and there was an undeniable feeling that we all wanted to be somewhere else. So after a big hearty chat we decided to call it a day.
This isn’t to say we won’t be working together in the future, the two Chrises are starting another band with a more epic sound in mind and Ben is continuing with his solo project which is gearing up to be pretty awesome.
I myself am still a bit undecided as what to do with myself now, obviously I’ll do my best to help out both projects but for the most part I feel like I should have a wee break from music, after all it’s been fairly non stop since I left school. So I might try to focus on my art a bit more, maybe write a book or a comic, and who knows maybe after a wee break I might get back on the band wagon (ho ho!)

But yea to sum up I had some of the best times of my life with the band, I made some of my best friends and got to travel loads and see some really cool places while I was at it.

I hope this clears up any queries or questions anyone had regarding the breakup, please stay tuned for news on future stuff as we’ll be back with some really cool music in one form or another.

Nup, I’m gonna talk about comics for eeeeever, or at least for this post then i’ll be done for a wee while.
As many of you know, I love getting Mail, especially from real people. Well today I received a comic! It’s called ‘The Lobster King’ and it’s written and drawn swedish illustrator Clara Bessijelle .
Reading through the comic is like being transported to a surrealist painting where things are just that little bit darker and stranger yet still retaining a dream like quality.
I actually had the pleasure of meeting Clara last year, she was living next door for a wee while and I got to show her around Glasgow, as well as showing her some of my naff pictures. The whole experience was quite expiring actually and since then I’ve gotten more into indie comics, to the extend I’ve started working on one myself but shhh it’s a secret.

Hope you’re all well and enjoying the weather, I’ve been getting stuck into a lot painting and starting some new little projects while I have a bit of time to play with. Anyways, I realise for the past few months I’ve Just blogged about myself and havn’t actually mentioned any other artists.
So today I’d like to talke about one of my favourite artists Audrey Kawasaki, a young american artist best known for paintings of girls in a style which I can only really describe as half manga and half art nouveau.
What I really love about her paintings is the dreamy eyes of her characters, and how they draw you into their little world of innocence, femininity and mystery. I also love her unique approach to materials, i.e wood boards and panels, keeping the original grain for a more natural effect, maybe I’ll try that sometime!

Hello Internets!
I’ve became a bit of a sheep and created a formspring but not for the usual reasons, see, I do get asked quite a lot of questions anyways like ‘Neil what paint do you use?’ or ‘Neil where do you get your mad ideas from?’ etc.
I think its a great wee place just for asking little things you normally wouldnt, I got a lot of great arty advice from Gemma Corrells and Marceline Smiths profiles, So I thought why not, maybe I can help some people out too.

As some of you may know I have a little pet, He’s called Herman and he’s a tortoise, he’s one of my closest friends and I guess he’s a bit of a mascot too.
Anyways It’s his birthday today, and he is 6! here is a little picture about our adventures.

Hello! hope everyone’s well!
As you may know I’m a nerd, yup, sometimes I think I pretty much live in the big bang theory and could outgeek that lot tenfold.
Anyways I totally love doctor who, especially his very beautiful new assistant, so i decided to write her a letter.
unfortunately, straight after I found her fan mail address I somehow managed to lose the drawing :( proper gutting I know.
Not to worry though, I’ve plenty of other ideas, maybe I’ll send her my severed ear, I hear girls dig stuff like that.
